An Italian Pork & Cabbage dish....and a family favorite!! The meat will fall apart and the cabbage....melts in your mouth. There is only one person who makes this dish....and that is not me. It is my Mom.....GIGI!!!!! She makes the most amazing Ameneste ever!!!!! So this is her recipe. True to the way Gigi likes to cook....very simple! And that's what makes this recipe soooo great. It is sooooo simple and soooo delicious.
1 WHOLE HEAD OF CABBAGE 1 WHOLE PORK TENDERLOIN 3 LINKS OF ITALIAN SWEET SAUSAGE 3 LINKS OF ITALIAN HOT SAUSAGE 4 PIECES OF COUNTRY SPARE RIBS 1 WHOLE HEAD OF GARLIC 4 CUPS CHICKEN BROTH OLIVE OIL SALT & PEPPER ITALIAN BREAD
Begin by getting heating about 4 Tblsp of olive oil in a large stock pot.
Add in all your meat and brown on all sides.... Season all with salt & pepper. Add in your chopped garlic and continue to saute until soft and tender....Next, add in your chicken broth and softly simmer about an hour until meat is thoroughly cooked.
Remove your meat from the pot and add your cabbage in batches and cook until all is soft and tender.
Add your meat back into the pot, all together with the cabbage and.....let's eat!!!!!
PS......DO NOT FORGET THE LARGE LOAF OF ITALIAN BREAD YOU WILL WANT/NEED TO DIP INTO ALL OF THAT DELICIOUS JUICE!!!!
