Another great healthy snack for everyone in your house from our Chef Circle V.I.P......Eunice!!! Why buy packaged oat bars with all those preservatives and added ingredients that you do not need in them? This is an all natural, clean and healthy snack. Satisfying and filling when you need a treat. Also....depending on who you are making them for......you can add some protein powder to these to pump up the protein. Either way......All Good Stuff!!!! Great recipe Eunice...thanks so much for sharing!!! We make these and Eunice's Power Brownie Bites every Sunday for our treats that last all week. POWER OAT BARS
2 CUPS OATS 1 CUP ALMOND BUTTER (OR PEANUT BUTTER) 1 CUP DRIED FRUIT (CRANBERRIES, BLUEBERRIES) *****OR 1/2 CUP OF EACH IF YOU LIKE BOTH**** 1/2 CUP SHREDDED COCONUT 1/2 CUP DARK CHOCOLATE CHIPS (AND A FEW FOR THE TOP) 1/2 CUP AGAVE (OR HONEY) 1/4 CUP CHIA SEEDS
Very simply......add all the ingredients into the food processor. Let it run until all combined.
Turn it out onto a piece a parchment paper, shape into a rectangle and pop it into the refrigerator to harden. Oh yeah....you can add a few more chocolate chips to the top....why not??? Could it get any easier than that??? It literally will take you 10 minutes to make and you will have a delicious treat all week.
When it is hardened, you can cut them into bars. Store them in the refrigerator and grab one as needed..... A great afternoon snack with my cup of tea around 3pm!! Eunice....we love your healthy treats....keep them coming!! Please leave us a comment below to let Eunice know how you like them!!!!
