Soooo simple........Sooooo good!!! I have said before, if you have leftover bread in your house, do something great with it. I have given you other recipes to use it in like my homemade breadcrumbs....making great meatballs...and now croutons!! Homemade croutons are just soooo much better than buying any package in a store. And will literally take you 10 minutes to do. We can do different flavor combinations on these but today, let's start with garlic....and parmesan, of course!!
GARLIC & PARMESAN CROUTONS
1 LOAF OF CRUSTY BREAD (ITALIAN...CIABATTA...ETC) GARLIC POWDER GRATED PARMESAN CHEESE OLIVE OIL SALT & PEPPER
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Very simply....cube your bread into 1" pieces.
Lay them all on a baking tray. Generously coat with the salt & pepper, garlic powder and parmesan. I am not going to tell you exactly how much because you should judge by your own taste. A little more or less is not going to ruin it, you will just know for next time what you would like better. All I will repeat is generously coat!!
Next, drizzle all over with olive oil and toss with your hands to coat well.
Bake at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes. 1 to 2 minutes longer if you like them crunchier.....again all up to you!!!
Beautiful and delicious. Top any salad with these and your guests will be very impressed!!! They are also fantastic on pasta dishes...kind of a mini garlic bread topping!! I used mine today for a Cobb Salad that our Junior Chef's Circle created in a trifle bowl. It is gorgeous, huge.....and delicious!! ENJOY!!
