Honey Whiskey Glazed Carrots are always a huge hit on Thanksgiving!! They are a sweet, syrupy, whiskey flavor, delicious dish!! Different..... and so much tastier than plain old carrot......that's for sure!! And don't you worry, the kids can eat them. The alcohol in the whiskey cooks off and you are just left with the amazing flavor of the Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey Whiskey.....oh yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!
HONEY WHISKEY GLAZED CARROTS
2 PKGS (1 LB EACH) BABY CARROTS 1 STICK OF BUTTER 3 TBLSP OLIVE OIL 1/2 CUP JACK DANIELS TENNESSEE HONEY 1/3 CUP HONEY 1 TSP SALT
This is a very simple recipe. Grab a large saute pan. Pour in all the carrots, the 3 Tblsp of olive oil and the stick or butter. Heat covered over a low/medium heat until it comes to a slow simmer. Continue to simmer for about 15 minutes until slightly softened. Keep covered the whole time. This will allow them to steam.
Next grab your whiskey. Pour it in and kick up the heat to a high flame and bring to a rolling simmer. Let it go until the alcohol is cooked off and beginning to reduce, approximately 8 minutes.
Next add the honey and salt. Simmer just a few more minutes until a bit more reduced and thickened.
Simple or what???? You don't even have to chop a thing!!! HAHA...sometimes that makes for a great recipe. Especially on Thanksgiving when you are going to be doing plenty of chopping as it is.
