My wild and crazy brother-in-law....BOB...handed this recipe over years ago!! It is soooo easy and really takes the steak to a whole new level of flavor. Yes....as you can tell from the pictures I used a massive amount of garlic, but that is totally up to you. You can never have enough garlic!! Bob is actually a great home cook. He definitely loves to be in the kitchen. We've had many laughs making cream puffs together and even took a cooking class together. I know he has some more great recipes to share......come on Bob!!!! Give us more!!
BOB'S SAVORY STEAK
4 NEW YORK STRIP STEAKS ( OR THE CUT OF YOUR CHOICE!!!) 8 CLOVES OF GARLIC 1 TBLSP FRESH ROSEMARY CHOPPED 1 TBLSP FRESH SAGE CHOPPED 1 TBLSP FRESH THYME CHOPPED SALT & PEPPER OLIVE OIL
I can not tell you exactly how much to use for this one because it all depends on how many people you are feeding and how many steaks you are making. This is just about what I used for the 4 steaks I made. But use more or less depending on your needs....
About an hour before I grill the steaks I take them out of the refrigerator and let them rest on the counter so they begin cooking at room temperature. I also slice my garlic and chop my fresh herbs. I get it all into the olive oil so the flavors can all come together for awhile before the steak is ready. So....if you got your Pampered Chef Slicer by now....grab it and slice all the garlic. My favor kitchen tool ever!!!!! If you don't have it....grab your knife and try to slice it as thin as possible....
You can throw it all onto a baking tray or roasting pan. Now chop the fresh herbs finely!!
Drizzle on enough oil to completely cover it all and get it all mixed up together.
OK....that's all your prep work.....done!!! Now just let it sit for a bit until you are ready to grill!! All your steaks will need is to be seasoned well with salt & pepper!! And a hot grill!!
Get your grilling on!!!! I threw some asparagus on also....yummm!!!!
When your steak is done....let it rest for 10 minutes before you cut into it Then slice it up!!
As you slice each steak get it all into the oil and herbs and mix it up well.
It is going to be the longest 10 minutes of your life but try to let it sit for a few before serving!! You can do it.....it is worth the wait!!! Thanks BOB, for the amazing recipe!! ENJOY!!!!!
