For this recipe, you will first need to go to my Buffalo Chicken Dip recipe page and prepare it as directed. As I said on that page, that recipe will be the foundation to so many other amazing recipes. It is so easy to prepare and here is a hint.....when you are going to make it, just make double. That way you will have it all prepared and can try taking it to the next step easily. This recipe is kind of my spin off of a rice ball. Stuffed with buffalo chicken DIP, cheese...then breaded in panko and fried!!!! WOW......its all good stuff!!
BUFFALO CHICKEN BITES
PREPARED BUFFALO CHICKEN DIP 4 EGGS FLOUR FOR DREDGING PANKO BREAD CRUMBS GRUYERE CHEESE CUT INTO 1/2 INCH CUBES OLIVE OIL FOR FRYING
***ONE PREPARED RECIPE OF BUFFALO CHICKEN DIP WILL MAKE ABOUT 30 BALLS. IT IS BEST TO WORK WITH THE DIP WHEN COLD. TRY TO MAKE THIS AHEAD OF TIME AND REFRIGERATE.
We will jump right into making the balls. If you have ever made a rice ball, it is exactly the same. If not....no worries. It is messy but very easy!! Just follow my pictures below.
First, take about 2 tablespoons of the dip into your hand. Make a well in the center and insert a piece of cheese. Mold the dip around the cheese to form a ball, adding more dip if needed to entirely cover the cheese.
Next take it through your stations....flour first...then egg...then panko.
Keep going till they are all rolled. Heat your oil and place balls in frying pan. Cook about 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and gorgeous.
Look at those beautiful balls!!!! If you love buffalo chicken...you will love these!! Serve with some ranch or blue cheese dip with a drizzle of buffalo sauce on top,
CJ, Dom, Michael and Ryan certainly did!! I just found out that Anthony does not like cheese....sorry Anthony!!! They are great taste testers when you need one, but you have to be careful because you never have any left when they are done tasting!!
